So for the past 3 nights I have had a nightmare about something in the wedding going wrong. Everything from Hubby showing up an hour late and cutting the cake without me, to craft glue not holding in the summer sun.
Maybe I am stressing out too much? It is Christmas right now, maybe I should focus on the stuff I want to make for that. Or maybe I am stressed about all the Christmas stuff I have to do and secretly feel that all the wedding projects will suffer if I take the next 2 weeks off wedding crafting.
There is just so many little details to think of and so many things I need to decide that I am feeling a little over whelmed. I think if I get the rentals finally booked and the bridesmaid dresses finally done I will feel better.
Once I know what we are renting I can fully commit to the decor, and once I know what the bridesmaid dress will look like I can plan the flowers and the other attendants outfits.
And most importantly... WHAT WILL FRANK WEAR?!?!?!
This is the first blog I have ever created! Let's see how it goes! My best friend and I got married on July 9th, 2011. We created a DIY Vintage Carnival Themed wedding. Homemade everything sprinkled with love, made our day a fun, relaxed and memorable event for everyone involved! I have gotten a lot of the inspiration for various aspects of our wedding from other bloggers and I have decided that maybe I should share some of my creations.

The Power of eBay
eBay has been one of the greatest resource for finding random obscure objects that are absolutely perfect for the wedding. For example, I found this Cotton Candy flag on eBay for $30, it is exactly what would be used at a carnival today. I know its not vintage but I think it will still add to the theme. This would be one of the top resource I would suggest to anyone planning any kind of themed wedding! Just remember to set your limit and stick with it, or you will end up spending way more then you planned.
Perfect detail!
PERFECT! Vintage style pop for a vintage wedding!
And the taste test proves it's a perfect match! MMM Lime Ricky!
Milk glass...
I got these at a yard sale in the summer.... I have no idea what to do with them, but I am hopeful something will give me inspiration!
Save The Dates!
We made these cute little magnets with a button maker! We simply took the pin part off the back of the button before we assembled them.
We made a total of 5 different designs... we couldn't decide which ones we wanted!

Too many colours to decide!
So here I am 205 days to go.... and I have so much planned already! The only thing I am really stuck in at this point is colours! So far everything is every colour but will that be to much?
My Mom keeps trying to tell me that I need to pick a few repeating colours to tie everything together... but its a carnival theme... shouldn't it be full of colour? My standard reply is always that repeating theme or vintage carnival is what will tie it all together... but am I just hopeful that it will?
What has me doubting this decision to go with a rainbow colour scheme is how difficult it has been for me to pick a bridesmaid dress. Since I really don't have a specific colour to look for, every vintage style dress is an option... Maybe picking one colour would make it easier?
I'm thinking the electric blue of this Alfred Sung dress would compliment the blue of my veil...
But I also love the dusty rose colour, it reminds me of my grandmother. The sparkles would look lovely under the twinkle lights of the dance floor.
I have also found a vintage Vogue dress pattern that I am in love with... its just a matter of selecting a fabric... Gold? I have a lot of gold details throughout the decor....
Either way I should decide on this soon! We can't really pick the groomsmen colours until we know what the girls are wearing....
Maybe girls in blue and guys in gold??

What a good idea!
Sewing a washer into the hem of the dresses so they don't end blowing all over the place if its windy!
Mushache Party!
We fell in love with this idea and have become committed to it.
The mustaches will be part of our guest favour. Different ones for each guest... although I am sure a couple will be repeated with 200 guests.

Light up the night!
I spent many Saturdays this past summer browsing through yard sales and second hand stores looking for treasures!
I have collected about 70 mason jars to be used with citronella tea light candles as a way to light up the area and mark the path to the washrooms, and of course the citronella should keep the bug back... hopefully.

Blusher like no other!
Another DIY project on the go! I am determined to make my veil! I have all the supplies, I just need to assemble!
I love the peacock feathers! I am going with a Royal Blue coloured netting, I feel it really stands out and adds some serious drama to my look!

Inspiration
I have always dreamed of having my wedding on parents property, and when Chris proposed he knew what he was getting himself into!
I was showing a few of my friends the field my Aunt and Uncle had agreed to let us use for the tent when we all started joking about making it a carnival wedding... you know, bobbing for apples, cotton candy. We had quite the laugh about it! The next day I was still thinking about it... so I did some research and fell in love!
